Nicola Peltz Beckham spoke out about why she didn't wear a Victoria Beckham wedding dress to marry Brooklyn Peltz Beckham in an interview with Variety published on Wednesday.
Nicola, 27, and Brooklyn, 23, tied the knot on April 9 in Palm Beach, Florida.
Nicola wore a custom Valentino dress to the wedding. It took Valentino a year to make the dress, and Nicola had to travel to Rome twice for fittings, as Insider previously reported.
Nicola's choice to not wear a dress designed by Victoria Beckham helped to fuel reports of a feud between the actress and Posh Spice, as an unnamed source told Page Six that Nicola and Beckham "can't stand each other and don't talk" and that Nicola didn't want Beckham "to be any part of the planning" for the wedding.
But speaking to Variety's chief TV critic Daniel D'Addario, Nicola said she originally planned to wear a dress designed by her mother-in-law.
"I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress," Nicola said. "She didn't say you can't wear it; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it. That's where it started, and then they ran with that."
However, Beckham did design dresses for some of the wedding's attendees, including Eva Longoria and her son Romeo's girlfriend at the time Mia Regan, as the Daily Mail reported.
Brooklyn also denied the reports of a feud in the same Variety interview, saying that "everyone gets along" in his family.
"I've learned they're always going to try to write stuff like that," he said of tabloids. "They're always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good."
